Sorry, No Vacancies

The winter vacation begins.

Combining big food, proper drinks and a soundtrack of low-slung disco, late night jazz and grown-up house, our new destination pop-up Sorry, No Vacancies is set to open in the heart of Brixton from November til January. Serving up hearty portions of good times, the split level venue with heated yard and smoking area will throw open its doors for the first time on Saturday November 2nd.

Joining forces once more with cocktail impresarios Soul Shakers and seasoned producers Gorilla Events, the story of Sorry, No Vacancies is one about the love of food, of dancing, of forgotten fun, of the act of creation, and of alchemy: blending joint expertise in sustenance, entertainment, comfort, and years of understanding the esoteric science of “vibe” to create a home away from home for weary winter wonderers.

For the peckish, food will be curated by one of London’s finest chefs: Chris Gillard from St John Restaurant, presenting his own fantasy hot dog menu. A festival favourite and pop-up veteran himself, Chris and his team set up shop in “The Dog House”, the venue’s in-house hot dog emporium. Thirst-quenchers come in the form of gloriously intoxicating tipples such as “Blue Cheer”, “Flashback” and “Now Get Hip” from those soul shaking mixologists.

As the weekends roll in, airwaves will be appropriated by DJ sets from the likes of The Invisible, Soft Rocks,  Hannah Holland, Sound of the Cosmos, Nadia Ksaiba, Heavenly Jukebox, Ray Mang, Bill Brewster, Homance, The Pool DJs, Cut & Shut Disco and many more to be announced. Meanwhile Thursdays and Sundays are set to feature a lo-fi mix of rockabilly and blues as well as live organist.

Winter is coming. Take a vacation.
