OXJAM – aka Oxfam’s annual month-long national festival of music – is seeking out local heroes, music lovers, event impresarios, pub landlords, bored students, budding organisers and vivacious volunteers to join the Gigmaker network across the country. Gigmakers are the ones behind the Oxjam events, the glue that holds the nights together, the faces held high and the manpower behind so many unforgettable gigs. Anyone with a desire to take part is welcome, and gigs have taken place everywhere from regular music spots to bathrooms, basements, parks, gardens, homes, and even on top of mountains.
Every year the series of Oxjam events raises hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity, turning our island-wide festivities into noble causes (a win-win, right?) In fact, since its beginnings 2006, Oxjam has raised over £2.3 million for Oxfam.
