With the Red Bull Music Academy inching ever closer, details have been released about the site it will call home from the 19th October to the 16th November, and all the wild and wonderful things slated to happen inside. La Gaîté Lyrique, situated in Paris’ arty 3rd arrondissement, is a digital arts and modern music centre. Along with the Academy, from 24th October to 31st January, 2016, it will play host to an enhanced music exhibition and programming from some of Paris’ creative collectives, given curatorial powers to do as they please as RBMA shine a spotlight on the city’s diverse music scene.
Red Bull Music Academy have invited Parisian collective Scale to explore music’s multi-sensory aspect through a series of audiovisual devices designed to be either viewed or activated collectively. The six installations are titled: Taitoru, Unlimited Piano, 32 Automatic Drums, Immorphosis, 1020 Seconds, and Terminal. Click HERE for more info on each. Along with these fixtures, Paris Musique Club has invited 12 Parisian collectives to exhibit for four days at a time, introducing themselves to the public through live performances, DJ sets, listening sessions, screenings, and more. The collectives are Sonotown, Born Bad, Barbi(e)turix, Antinote, La Souterraine, Brut Pop, Garage Mu, In Paradisum, and Potemkine, with the rest TBC.
