New Order: New format

Today saw Native Instruments’ STEMS format take a big step, with legendary Manchester band New Order releasing an exclusive extended version of their new single ‘Tutti Frutti‘ via the multi channel audio format.

Taken from their recent LP Music Complete, along with accompanying album track ‘Academic‘, ‘Tutti Frutti’ is now available as a Stems ready, digital exclusive. The release marks an exciting advance for the adoption of STEMS, which allows DJs to freely interact with a track’s individual musical elements and provides a new revenue stream for labels and artists.

Speaking about the release, Mute Records (New Order’s label) CEO Daniel Miller commented:

“I was really excited when I first heard about STEMS so am delighted we’re on board with this digital exclusive release from New Order.  The band came from the club world in the 80s so for them to be releasing in a format that lets today’s club DJs bring their tracks to new audiences, and get creative at the same time, is great.”
