24 hours with Oxjam
After a sell-out show with Fatboy Slim in the Dalston Oxfam shop to launch Oxjam Music Festival, we joined DJ Magazine, Chew TV and 24 DJs for a 24-hour Marathon.
Kicking things off at lunchtime on Wednesday 12th October at Angel’s Work Bar, the stream continued until the following lunchtime on Thursday, in which time a full spectrum of club orientated sounds broadcasted around the globe including sets from Basement Jaxx, Rob Da Bank, Secretsundaze, Horse Meat Disco and Bugged Out.
Each DJ that passed through played an hour long set and the Marathon hosted indie heroes Friendly Fires, UK Garage stalwart Matt Jam Lamont, drum’n’bass dons Fabio and Grooverider, and disco-house mainstays Crazy P. Elsewhere, techno mavericks Simian Mobile Disco, Bristol house crew Eton Messy, party bro duo Krankbrother and post-disco upstarts Kiwi and Medlar all stepped up.
The Marathon was raising awareness of the month-long calendar of events organised by hundreds of Oxjam volunteers around the country to raise money for Oxfam’s work to end poverty. To get involved and donate, head to the Oxjam website here
