In Conversation with Ubunifu Space

Where are you right now?

We’re all working from our homes; in bed, on the couch, on the dining table!

What are you working on?

Focusing on new content for Ubunifu Instagram and YouTube, sending out emails and working on final edits on the remaining docu-series we’ve just launched.

Why do you do what you do?

B: To help expose the talent and creativity coming from Young Africans across the globe and also give them the opportunity to change their lives and the lives of the people around them. In turn, also build Ubunifu into a worldwide media brand with a distinct identity.

I: Also, The desire to expose different artists, music and cultural scenes within the African continent and diaspora, that don’t get the plaudits they deserve

What’s something you’re really into right now?

D: At the moment I’m watching The Office (US) and I find that it’s giving me all the laughs I need during these mad times

M: Bike riding. I learnt recently and my confidence is at an all-time high. Love weaving through the city on my racer!

What has the current situation made you appreciate?

S: To show love even more to family and friends. The current situation has been scary to witness, how many changes are happening to people and I just have to thank God no one around me has been severely effected.

Has anything inspired you whilst isolating?

D: I’ve been inspired by the innovative content that people/platforms are releasing during these times where there is less physical human interaction.

S: I did a couple shows on BBC radio 1 over Christmas and realised I want to get into voice overs after hearing myself so I’m preparing for that. Also my mate bought me a pottery kit and now I’m inspired to be super crafty. You ever tried painting by numbers? The best.

Where are you your most happy?

M: When traveling, meeting new people and having new experiences. Being away gives you perspective- humbles ego and makes you realise your small part of this huge planet

I: For me, when I’m listening to introspective mellow rap music, writing or with close friends

Is there a particular artist or album you’ve been listening to during this time?

I: Ambrosia by Emil

B: Odeal & OVMBR – Roses

M: Alfa Mist- Keep On. Soundtrack to Covid-19.

Who would you most like to share a meal with?

D: Probably Action Bronson. He knows the top places all around the world for food!

S: If I could choose anyone? If I wanted to be inspired then I would say Rihanna. I need to learn how she stays being a bad b 24/7.

What’s the last picture you took on your phone?

B: Christmas dinner lol
